Preserving the Past, Protecting the Future: The Brownfield Transformation at Bullion Plaza Cultural Center and Museum (BPCCM).
Originally opened as a grammar school in 1923, the Historic Bullion Plaza Cultural Center and Museum (BPCCM) stands as a landmark of cultural and historical significance in the Town of Miami, Arizona.
To support the site’s preservation and revitalization, Ѱ»¨ÂÛ̳ conducted comprehensive surveys including lead-based paint (LBP) and asbestos-containing material (ACM) as part of an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)-funded brownfield assessment. These investigations were performed in full compliance with an USEPA Region IX-approved Sampling and Analyses Plan (SAP), which was also prepared by Ѱ»¨ÂÛ̳.
Building on the results, Ѱ»¨ÂÛ̳ prepared an Analysis of Brownfield Cleanup Alternatives (ABCA), outlining a preliminary evaluation that provided information on contamination issues and potential remedial alternatives. Through Ѱ»¨ÂÛ̳’ guidance,  the grantee was able to apply for additional support through the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) Brownfield Program — successfully transition from assessment to remediation.
Today, the BPCCM stands as a shining example of Brownfield excellence—where cultural heritage meets environmental responsibility, and community pride is reclaimed for future generations.
